What About Fido? (Dogs at National Campout 2008)

Pigeon Lake is a provincial park and JFW’s are required to follow park rules regarding pets.

  1. Dogs must be on a leash at ALL times. There are no off leash areas.

  2. Pets are not allowed on public beaches, in swimming areas or in public buildings.

  3. Please be considerate and clean up after your dog.

  4. Dogs are not allowed at JFW sessions or at JFW group eating areas

  5. Dogs cannot be left unattended at your campsite (you will need to appoint a dog sitter)

  6. Dogs will be allowed to attend the evening gatherings; however, if problems arise, they may be banned from future gatherings.

  7. Keep pet food put away so as not to attract the local wildlife.

Changing Campsites: If you find something wrong with your campsite upon arrival or wish to switch sites, leave your camping unit at the assigned site and proceed to the Registration Tent to discuss a possible change. Changes cannot be made at the JFW Checkpoint.

Arriving early? If your family would like to arrive early, we ask that you pre-arrange by Wed, July 9, with notification to Caroline Tymchuk ctymchuk@shaw.ca 403.255.3128. There will be no programs or services available prior to July 13th at 1:00pm. Those arriving early will be asked to volunteer in assisting with camp set-up.

Only 7 days until National Campout 2008!

The National Campout 2008 Organizing Committee looks forward to welcoming you to Pigeon Lake on July 13!
